iFHP July 2023 Executive Briefing

School of System Change | Enabling Change for Leaders in Health

Tuesday 4 July  | 90 mins including interactive Q&A

09.00 UK | 10.00 WAT  | 10.00 CET | 10.00 SAT  I 18.00 AST | 20:00 NZT

The School of System Change is bringing together global health system leaders and practitioners to reimagine health systems to centre on resilience instead of disease, so that together we can build resilience at the individual, community and systems levels with equal access for all.

In this practical, interactive 90-min session, Chief Enabling Officer at the School of System Change Anna Birney will introduce systems change and systemic practices and what it means to embrace a more systemic approach within an organisation. Anna will be joined by several iFHP study tour participants reflecting on this approach to hear their insights.

 We will be discussing:

  • What do we mean by 'systems change'?
  •
  • What might systemic practices look like in your organisation? How can your team and culture embody them?
  •
  • Identify what an existing cultural challenge that hinders systems thinking and practice in your organisation—particularly digging into what lies underneath the surface to understand the patterns and structures created by existing incentives and underlying thinking
  •
  • Hear from those taking this approach to their organisation and how they are getting started.

This session is open to health leaders who want to learn more about how a system change approach can help them in their work.
